This scrumptous little beauty was inspired after the benifical drink for what it is named after....Golden Milk!  I fell in love with Golden Milk after I went on a movie date with my parents and their croonies a few years back.  We saw the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel movie. (I was actually nervous to see it since it had Exotic in the name...and after all I was with my parents...yikes!)  This beautiful film inspired me to learn a little bit about the culture of India.  I was very intersted in the drink Golden Milk and studied up on the benefits of Turmeric only to find that not only was it good for you to eat, but fantastic for your skin!  Lets face it Coconut Milk and Honey are splendiferous (yea, I looked that up) on your skin too!

Benefits of Turmeric:  This sunset-yellow spice has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties that can help to: heal wounds, prevent breakouts, (and lessen active ones) fight eczema and psoriasis, reduce acne scarring, brighten dark circles and bring out your natural glow. It may be a relatively new skin treatment in the Western world, however, turmeric has racked up centuries of street cred (too legit!) as an Indian health treatment for a number of skin and body issues.Turmeric has positive research backing its ability to reduce inflammation and speed healing. Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory and free-radical-fighting properties have made it a topic of study for countless skin issues.  Along with the issues mentioned above, studies also show that turmeric may also be beneficial in treating: stretch marks, dry skin, skin cancer, scleroderma, vitiligo.

Benefits of Honey: Honey is packed with components beneficial for your skin, especially if you have acne or autoimmune skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis. Even Candida overgrowth may be controlled by applying honey to your skin. Honey helps balance the bacteria on your skin, which makes it a great product to use for acne. Honey speeds up your skin cells’ healing processes. If you have blemishes or an eczema outbreak, honey could speed healing and reduce inflammation. Honey is so effective at healing wounds quickly that it’s now used by doctors in clinical settings. Honey is also a natural exfoliator and reveals new skin cells underneath.  With its moisturizing and soothing effects, honey can hydrate the skin, leaving it soft, radiant, and glowing. The sugars in honey act as natural humectants and emollients that increase the water content and reduces dryness in the skin.

Coconut Milk:  Coconut milk has high levels of Vitamin C which helps maintain elasticity and flexibility of skin. It is also rich in copper, and prevents wrinkles, sagging skin and age spots. (Ummm...I'm sold!) The antimicrobial properties of the milk prevent breakouts, and its fats prevent the skin pores from clogging. Highly moisturizing on the skin as well as soothing and  healing.
